You’ve probably heard about the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP), a government initiative that offers several grants to help businesses grow. One of these grants is called GYBO (Grow Your Business Online). Essentially, this grant provides up to $2,400 to boost your online sales through website development and optimising.
To qualify, your business needs to meet a few basic criteria:
- Be a registered business;
- Have at least one employee besides the owner or generate $30,000 in annual revenue;
- Focus on direct sales of goods or services to customers.
There are a few additional conditions, but they’re relatively minor. You can find full details on the official website. If your business meets these simple requirements, your next step is to connect with a Service Provider, like a marketing agency, to help you access the grant.
How does CDAP work?
Once you find a marketing company that can either improve your existing website or build a new one from scratch, they will create a proposal that you can submit with your application for the grant. If your business meets all the criteria, there’s almost a 100% chance of being approved. Once approved, you’ll begin working with the marketing company to do the upgrade agreed on in the proposal. After this period, you’ll submit your expenses for the services used to grow your online business, and the government will reimburse you up to $2,400.
In essence, you don’t have to worry about the application process – just find a suitable service provider. It’s important not to select an overly expensive agency or one that doesn’t effectively improve your online presence.
