Kayu Canada (kayu.ca) – Premium Hardwood Supplier is a Calgary-based Canadian company that specializes in supplying high-quality tropical and exotic hardwood lumber for both residential and commercial projects.
The website ranked well in the city of Calgary, Alberta for some key queries, as the company’s main office is located there. In the other provinces, the site did not rank at all.
# Solutions
To start we conducted a comprehensive SEO audit which identified and resolved the following errors:
- errors in code validation;
- slow site loading speed (long wait makes the user leave the site without waiting for the page to load);
- duplicate pages (reduce the speed of indexing pages and may also affect the indexing of unwanted pages);
- errors in micro markup SCHEMA;
- no html sitemap;
- headings <H1…H6> in the layout of the site;
- lack of semantic core;
- unoptimized meta tags and H1 headings;
- lack of SEO content;
- errors in the Blog in particular the lack of E-E-A-T principle.
- errors in local SEO: lack of local pages, local keywords.
# Results
As a result working and improving the website for the last few months, we managed to rank it as follows:
Ranked highly competitive keywords TOP 1 – 11, TOP 3 – 31 keywords, in TOP 5 – 57 keywords, and in TOP 10 – 116 keywords:

Before the promotion, the website was buried on the 10th page of Google search results for the keywords below, that means these keywords were ranked around position 100 or did not ranked at all. The screenshots demonstrate an improvement of more than 90 positions:
Organic traffic was nearly doubled.
During the last 5 months of work (April 10 – August 21, 2024) it amounted to – 3710 clicks. During the previous 4.5 months (December 10, 2023 – April 10, 2024) the traffic was – 2070 clicks:
