How to get a Google Review from your satisfied clients
This is somewhat of a pain point with most of my clients because they know they should get reviews on Google but they are not.
Well, most of them forget to ask or if they ask, their clients are confused on where and how they can leave the review. Google doesn’t help either by changing Google Plus, Google Local, deleting Google Plus pages…
Right now (May of 2016) we have Google My Business, an awesome listing that Google provides for local businesses.
Have you claimed your listing? It’s free. All you need is a verification code sent by mail from Google.
But I digress, you can get a Google review from your clients very easily.
By simply asking.
Now would you do that?
If not, why not? Please let me know by leaving a comment below.

I think most business owners would ask for this coveted review if they had an easy system in place. This is where my simple by effective little template comes in. You can customize the template to your company and attach it to an email or simply print it and use it whenever you feel that a client is happy and would give you a good review.
It is important to ask for a review when a client is happy with your service or product. Ask immediately not later. – Viola
Your chances of actually getting a review are much higher when you ask the clients “in the moment”, when they are all pumped with the results. They will take the time and write the review and I bet it will be a good one.
Why are Google reviews important?
Once you claimed your Google My Business (GMB) listing, you are able to ask for reviews and once you get at least 5 reviews Google will show the little yellow stars below your business listing making your business stand out from your competition.
In order for your business to show up on the first page of Google your
- GMB listing has to be well optimized and
- the more reviews you have the better
It is not easy to get your website show up on the first page of Google, it takes a long time, and it gets expensive. Having a Google My Business listing with lots of good reviews helps you achieve this easier, all you need is to be consistent, update your listing regularly and ask for reviews regularly.
Hopefully this sheds some light on how to get a Google Review and why.
